Get it?

Stuffed dead animals as set props, concept driven show, McQueen bunny suit, prints,
prints and prints. I personally liked the shapes of some dresses, speacially the last
ones that glittered there way trough the runway, they could NOT be missed. The
hairstyle that the models wore was one of my favorite parts of the show. Many people
hate this collection, maybe because he's mocking everybody? blablabla shut up and
watch the vid:

The grid: Making the world a better place

The grid has always played a fundamental role in graphic design and typography. It's been excessively used or completely ignored over the history of design. I found a really good podcast on Josef Muller-Brockmann's Grid Systems in Graphic Design and everyone should have a listen at this. Wish I could post the direct sound file here, but I don't know how. Still, follow the link and hope it'll leave you with an itching curiosity to know more.

What silly gibberish

I'm really hoping the bear from the jungle book is right. I'm gonna sum up everything
I was gonna say to: I want change, move out, a kick ass job, kidnap my BFF and take
him with me to Spain. And yeah, I need money(the greatest bitch of all) to do that. It's
just a circle that never stops. I know a few who will bitch slap me after this, I love you all.

Alan Meeks

Part of my work is really heavy on typography. The image above are a few of the slides
from a Power Point presentation I designed on the typographer Alan Meeks, making a
retrospective with my interpretation of his work. Below are the results that followed

Pure pleasure

You know you want to see more.

The electricity in your house wants to sing.

Remember how certain sound or smells remind you of places and experiences?
Well, every song from the electro pop group I am robot and proud reminds me
of either my childhood, my BFFs or my trip to Spain. .Actually this is more of a
one-man show, composed by Shaw-Han Liem. I am in LOVE with his sound, it
appears to be from dreams or fantasies, specially the sounds that the houses
make when you scroll the mouse on top on them on the site . The songs evoque
a very serene and relaxing mood. I always put them on when my my mind won't
quit or when Ritalin doesn't have any effect on me.

Graphic madness

About a month ago I received the stickers above in the mail from Hixtrill.
He's an all around graphic designer who does everything from toy
design to illustration. He sent me those stickers for a upcoming book.
This week I finally got a chance to actually play with them, speacially
because they were getting pretty anxious in the envelope. I get to have
as much fun as I want to with them and hopefully the results that turn
out from this will be featured in his book. Let's see what this little
characters do to me. They keep waking me up at night, specially the one
in the front waving.

I can't get over this...

I may be late on this, but Alexander Mcqueen's Fall/Winter 2008-2009
Womenswear show has me so captivated that I audio hijacked the music
of the show. I am OBSESSED with the music. I can't really find the names
to the songs to download them properly and forever be obssesed in classical
music and Nirvana's "Come as you are" violin tunes. Below, the first video
has the full first part of the runway show and the second has the Nirvana song.
Needless to say that the clothes are "oh my god!! heavens!...thats fantastic!"
works of art ( in whatever you might define art) and I would wear every piece
even in this hot, humid and awful weather.

I'm more of a still-frame-image girl, but recently moving images are just
becoming my new addiction. Although the book will be dead soon, I don't
think the poster will ever be deceased . I'm still going to pay my respects.

I want a world of sequin...

I was reading the Kingdom of Style blog and Queen
Michelle's recent post just left my jaw hanging.Oh dear..

The Midnight Blue Topshop sequin leggings are to DIE
for. It's not the first time I've seen them, but every time
I get a glimpse, I want them even more.

Of course I'll just keep dreaming because the dollar
conversion is CRAY-ZAH. Meanwhile I'll just find a
sequined fabric and try to copy this dreamy blues.

DONT read this

Its 5 am and I'm sleepy and kinda having a bad night, thought I'd ran some
therapy by letting it all out, so if you don't wan't to read anything pathetically
stupid, I suggest you skip to the next post. Here are my sleepless thoughts:

As Ive come to grow and experience in the short time Ive been present, Ive come
to the conclusion that as I get older there are people in my life that up until this
moment mean a great deal to me and in a great deal I mean Ive made them my
life. As I experience and grow through the rough patches that life has put me though,
those that really matter will always be in my mind, remembering them where I go and
the moments shared with them will never be replaced, staying with me in the back
of my head. A fairy tail ending in a move always makes me want to kick the TV, 'cause
when your a kid they make you grow in ignorance believing the "life is perfect"shit and
not of what real endings are actually meant to be like. Sometimes I've gone to think
that something is perfect, (even with all its rough edges) and that it just fits, but I
don't get what or why it didn't come to fully fit, and it makes me angry and sad because
I feel I'm wasting good time and it's right there but you can't do anything about it. Ive
come to the conclusion by my own experiences that the more you live the harder
it is to let others enter your life. Its difficult to describe it. You become so attached to
the few your never willing to let go of, no matter what, even if time seems like hell. GET
OVER YOUR SORRY ASS...youre thinking. BAH! we always carry baggage and even though
sometimes decisions are made for us and you can't really do anything about it, you go along
with it(while I bitch and whine alone) you just regain hope and enjoy what you got, while
you can. Like I said in my first post PARDON my english, everythings gets mixed in my head,
speacially at this hour.

I'm hungry, I'm going to sleep

Sagmeister ate my bread

Anybody that's involved in the world of design, specially graphic design,
must know who Stefan Sagmeister is. To me he is one of the best graphic
designers out there today. He has very strong points and ideas, everything
he does, the way he works and he's whole design philosophy, I truly respect.
He debates, says what he thinks and is purely sincere. I love to hear him talk,
specially because of he's austrian accent. I kinda break a sweat every time I hear
him on some video. Below there are some links, videos, interviews and essays
he's done.

gems

I found this Flickr account while roaming through some blogs and came across
the image above. A set of illustrations that are very adorable. I don't know if it's
because she (I'm assuming it's a she) drew some crystals and gems or the simplicity
in the drawing, but j'dore(I just wanted to say that).
